White Pages reverse directory: is extremely useful for investigators who find a relevant telephone number only and require the associated Name and address!
(Much needed now for cellular phones of course as these out-number fixed land-lines!) But privacy concerns prevent full publication of cell-phone directories.
You really need a quick reference guide for people searching and reverse lookup: white pages, yellow pages for local businesses, and a reverse lookup telephone directory, email lookup as at Yahoo! people search, for example; and ideally also cell phone reverse lookup.
Net Detective gets you into unlisted telephone numbers. You most likely know this if you live in Miami or L.A.
These facilities are eventually coming on the horizon, so to speak.
